Just before Steve and Robin, who infiltrated the Soviet secret base, are captured and tortured, Steve—emboldened by the truth serum administered for interrogation—actually intimidates the Soviet officer. He says Dustin has already escaped the base and contacted Chief Hopper, who will contact the US government, and they'll devastate the secret base "Commando style." The Soviet officer laughs. He shouldn't.
