It's no exaggeration to say that another protagonist of <Stranger Things> Season 3 is the large shopping mall Starcourt Mall. The title of Chapter 2, "The Mall Rats," combines "Mall" and "Rats"—slang for teenagers and young people who hang around shopping malls as their playground. It's also the title of the second feature film by Kevin Smith, who rose as a new star in indie cinema with <Clerks> in 1994. Watching the kids of Hawkins this season, especially Eleven and Max, running around the mall having fun, it's clearly an homage.
