The title of Chapter 4, 'The Body,' is taken directly from Stephen King's novella. This work also served as the source material for Rob Reiner's film, <Stand By Me>. In many ways, <Stranger Things> can be seen as a dark fantasy version of <Stand By Me>. The friendship and adventures shared by four boys, coupled with the sense of loss as summer fades, lie at the heart of <Stranger Things>. The Duffer Brothers have called this film the 'heart and source' of the series. Consequently, the scene featuring the boys walking along the train tracks stands as a poignant homage to the film.
